WINTER Blankets Distribution Drive in National Capital Region (Delhi and Gurgaon)

Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire. This is how we all visualize the winters. But, winter comes back very hardly to the underprivileged that too old aged people who are deprived of love and affection by their kith and kin.

On 06th January, 2016 W.H.Y. Foundation has taken a step forward to give away 60 blankets and few mosquito repellent coils which would help them to fight the chilling winter and get some peaceful sleep at night.

Our volunteers (who are employees in various MNC offices in NCR) after finishing their office hours at 10:00 PM visited poor homeless people and children in few shelters which are provided by The Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (NCT) of Delhi.

We were happy to see that all these shelters were properly functional with required facilities and the poor homeless people and children utilizing these facilities. We also interacted with volunteers and incharges of these shelters and understood the way these shelters work and how they everyday drive across Delhi streets in chilling winters nights to find people who are sleeping on roads without blankets or proper protection from cold and rescue such people by bringing them to these shelters.

Few people whom we got chance to interact, told us they were happy receiving the blankets and mosquito repellent coils. It gives immense pleasure and satisfaction that we were able to spread love and warmth for these underprivileged people.

W.H.Y. Foundation thanks all the donors and supporters for putting up a consolidated effort. Special thanks to the people who made this activity possible by taking time from their busy schedules to join this activity from planning till successfully implemention.
