Give a man a fish you have fed him for today…teach a man to fish you have fed him for a lifetime…!!!

Inspired by this quotation, on 09-June-2016,  W.H.Y. Foundation has supported Eleven Visually Impaired Students to continue their D.Ed. Special Education (Visual Impairment) Course at NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR THE VISUALLY HANDICAPPED – REGIONAL CENTRE – POONAMALLEE – CHENNAI, TAMIL NADU.

Due to non-affordability to pay the 4th semester examination fees, they had no option but to lose hope of completing their education.

One of the students who we helped previously with hearing aid contacted W.H.Y. Foundation for helping him and his friends to continue their education. Based on our verification and post we visiting the institute and personally speaking to all students, W.H.Y. Foundation decided to help all Eleven Visually Impaired Students to continue their education and released an amount of 13,300/- rupees towards their 4th semester examination fees.

About the Course D.ED. SPECIAL EDUCATION (VISUAL IMPAIRMENT):

Diploma in Special Education is a major step towards preparing teachers across the country to teach children with special needs from pre-school to elementary level. It aims at preparing quality teachers who could meet the challenges of all round development of the children. The course is geared towards developing knowledge, skills and desirable attitudes in teachers to facilitate the differently abled children to blossom to their fullest by providing a barrier free environment and achieving the goal of universal elementary education.
