Counselling Fair 2017
Beyond basic literacy, a large number of Indians still suffer from ignorance and this affects their progress to a great extent.
To help combat this problem, W.H.Y.Foundation has organised a Counseling Fair for students of Class X, of Sultan Bazar High School, Koti, Hyderabad on 7th Jan 2017.
The goal of this program was simple – to encourage students to continue their education beyond basic schooling educating them about various higher education courses and options that are available.
Education is the beacon of light which drives away darkness from one’s lives. Illiteracy might be termed as one of the prime reasons for the underdevelopment of many parts of India. For numbers’ sake, the literacy rate of India is reasonably good, but this includes only people who know how to read and write. Beyond basic literacy, a large number of Indians still suffer from ignorance and this affects their progress to a great extent.
A lot of students who did not know about the various options they have ahead of them once they finish their basic schooling. As a result of this activity lot of them were inclined to continue their education and not quit after 10th class. We were able to create awareness among such students about the various options they have in front of them to continue their education on at least a part time basis, while still supporting their families economically.
At the end of the activity, we gave away exam pads and pens to the students.
We thank everyone who were part of this activity and all the donornos
