Working for Humanity with You

W.H.Y. Foundation is a registered non-profit charitable organization aimed to help the poor and economically backward people. Our focus is on Improving and Supporting Government Schools and Education in every possible manner that we as a group can fetch from our friends and supporters. We need supporting hands that can join with us.

That’s the reason we say W.H.Y. (Working for Humanity with You)..

Origin of W.H.Y

Touched by the ignorance of the underprivileged people in rural areas in this fast emerging era of technology, a few of us got together in July 2007 and decided to start a charitable foundation and got registered as W.H.Y. Foundation on 18th August, 2007. The office of the foundation is located in Defense Colony, Sainikpuri, Secunderabad.

An overview of the work carried by us:

W.H.Y. Foundation had started with 5* people in 2007 and has grown to 25* people (5000+ Virtual Network) over a period of 10 years in 2017.

All the founders, members and volunteers are software and MNC working professionals who take out time on weekends to volunteer with WHY FOUNDATION.

Our initial focus was on many different areas like, to impart best possible computer education, free of cost to the school and college students in rural areas as a primary focus, providing medical supplies to old age home, doing road shows on various social issues like global warming, planting, providing clothes to the poor in winter, supplying the basic amenities to the orphanages and government old age homes.

In the year 2015, we decided that going forward we would focus completely on “Improving and Supporting Government Schools and Education” by conducting various proposed activities and providing support like:

  • 1) Books Donation Drive
  • 2) Computer Education
  • 3) Stationery
  • 4) Sports Equipment
  • 5) School Uniforms
  • 6) Hygiene and Sanitation (Water Tanks, Toilets, Cleanliness in schools etc.)
  • 7) Infrastructure (Classroom wall paintings, benches, boards, dusters, fans, tables, storage units)
  • 8) Extracurricular activities (Competitions, cultural activities etc.)
  • 9) Aathmeeya Nestam Projects (Sponsor merit and needy students) and
  • 10) Sponsorships for sports and extra activities for merit students
